Why it exists
Good fonts, colours and references are scattered across dozens of sites, and many of them ask for a subscription before you can do anything useful. Swatchbay puts the everyday tools in one place and keeps them free, with no sign-up.

Where things come from
Every font is free for commercial use under an open licence (SIL Open Font License or Apache 2.0), and each download includes its licence file. Inspiration images are hand-picked: modern photos come from Unsplash under the Unsplash License and credit each photographer, and classic artworks come from the Cleveland Museum of Art's open-access collection (CC0).
How it stays free
Swatchbay is supported by ads and by optional paid extras in the brand kit maker. The tools themselves will stay free.
